Impact of the pandemic on the lower end of the employment sector

The pandemic has greatly affected workers in the lower end of the employment sector as reported by CIBC Capital Markets. Employees living on a minimum wage have seen a decline in employment of 22% – that’s 1 in every 5 who have lost their jobs. This does not include self-employed workers where the decline could be worse.
